Cosmetic Nail
Reconstruction
Cosmetic nail reconstruction for damaged, discoloured or fungal infected toe-nails.
Another frequent cause of changes to a nail’s appearance is the presence of a fungal infection. This can sometimes be tricky to diagnose initially but seeing a Podiatrist for expert advice is a good place to start. You may find that just one of your nails is affected, or possibly several. If caught early, the use of a topical paint applied weekly over the course of a few months can deal with the infection. Having regular footcare with your Podiatrist or Podiatry Assistant can help to control the infection and also minimise those parts of the nail infected.

Whatever the cause of these changes in appearance, the result can be that we can feel self-conscious or even embarrassed about how our feet look. This is when cosmetic nail reconstruction can help!
The gel is then ‘cured’ under an ultraviolet light to ensure that your new nail is strong and stays in place for several weeks. You may wish to retain a natural appearance or have a colour polish of your choice.
The results are remarkable! A patient of mine that has been having cosmetic nail reconstruction for several years recently said “it’s changed my life!” She was so self-conscious about the appearance of her big toe-nail, she refused to wear sandals. She is now taking every opportunity she can, weather permitting, to show off her toes!
